Hello again, savvy savers! Today finds us with a new book review, and this time it’s a new women’s Christian studies book by Shelia Walsh, entitled 5 Minutes with Jesus: Making Today Better.
Release Date: Aug 11, 2015
Length: 192 Pages
Publisher: Thomas Nelson
What I loved: Sheila Walsh, Bible teacher and bestselling author with more than five million books sold including Gigi, God’s Little Princess series, Peace for Today, Loved Back to Life, The Storm Inside, and Five Minutes with Jesus, bring readers a new way to not only examine the overextended nature of our day-to-day lives, but how a simple five minute period can help us become closer to Jesus. This book offers simple text, easy-to-read lessons, and daily devotion-style readings for both the novice and traditional Biblical women’s scholar.
What inspires me: Five Minutes with Jesus needed daily inspiration for every reader’s personal relationship with Jesus. This darling of a book proves that even in the midst of a busy lifestyle, every minute spent in the presence of Jesus will, has, and will continue to make a difference in our lives.
What needed improvement: Though this book provides the premise that this is an any time of day book, I frankly felt it would have been better titled “5 Minutes in the Morning with Jesus,” as the books lends itself to quite solitude and your first morning cup of coffee, as the 5 minutes you spend reading from this devotional may be the most important 5 minutes of your day.
The devotions definitely will improve your life and mine and give you a refreshing start to your day. This book is a keeper.
