Most days, I still feel like a teenager even though I’m a mom of four (and my oldest son turns 19 next weekend!) But the reality is, I’m 38 years old, and my skin is starting to show it. So when I had the opportunity to review Ageless Derma’s Anti-Aging Intensive Skin Brightener, I was curious to see what it could do for me.
As soon as it arrived, I was intrigued by the design – this product has a dispenser unlike any other skin cream I’ve tried. Instead of a plain jar where you scoop out the product (and inevitably get it under your fingernails), or a squeeze-type bottle where you have to shake it like a ketchup bottle to get the product out, this one has an airless pump that dispenses the product by simply pushing down on the top. However, the top does unscrew easily as well if you prefer to scoop your beauty cream out or are running low and need to scrape up the last little bit left in the container.
The cream itself doesn’t have much of a scent, which is nice if you’d rather not smell like your skin cream. (Personally, I prefer to smell like my coconut body spray rather than like whatever I’m putting on my face). There’s a very faint, almost clay-like scent, but it’s definitely not a heavily perfumed product like others I’ve tried. The cream is very smooth, just like a moisturizing lotion, and goes on easily and absorbs quickly.
This skin brightener has been specially formulated with seven ingredients to both quickly and gently lighten issues like age spots and hyperpigmentation. One of the active ingredients is NET-DG-Licorice Root, which is a natural anti-inflammatory that’s extracted from licorice root, and it’s gentle on sensitive skin. (I have medium-sensitive skin, but have had zero reactions to this product in the time I’ve been using it). It also contains a form of natural Vitamin C (an antioxidant and collagen protectant) called BV-OCS that’s been clinically found to reduce the synthesis of melanin (the pigment responsible for skin color) by 80%! It also protects your skin’s cells from wrinkle-causing UV damage.
So, what about the results? I tried this product out for about three weeks. I have to admit that I’m not the best about following a strict skin care regimen. The instructions say to “apply at night and morning,” but with our hectic mornings I didn’t always remember. That being said, when I compared my before and after pictures, I do see a difference in just three weeks of imperfect application.
