Hello again, savvy savers! Today finds us with a new book review, and this time it’s Behind my Belly Button, by Elaine Tomski.

This book is very cute! The text centers on the idea that all little boys want to be big, especially on their birthdays. One young man,  Eli,  wakes to find just the opposite on his birthday, as he is all things miserable on an otherwise celebratory day. That’s because his older brother claims Eli is only little. Eli s mother comes to the rescue with an uplifting tale of God’s plan to see Eli grow into a man, in his own time. She recants a story of how God planted a baby, the size of a poppy seed behind her belly button, and near to her heart. Eli discovers God’s plan for him to grow into a strong, strapping man, comes only after he is a loving, happy boy! Eli then celebrates an awesome birthday!

This story is unique in it’s positive simplicity, and for that reason I highly recommend this book!
